NEW NAMES OF ARMENIA: MUSIC AS A CULTURAL BRIDGE

Since 2009, Miassine has been supporting the young talents of the New Names of Armenia musical ensemble, founded by Silva Mekinian.

These talented artists, aged 8 to 22, perform in Armenia and Switzerland, promoting both classical music and Armenian musical heritage.

...

During tours of Switzerland (Geneva, Yverdon, Clarens, and WIPO), these young people share their art, create connections between cultures, and enjoy enriching experiences, including concerts, encounters, and cultural visits.

Their music becomes a universal language of resilience, peace and hope.

CONCERT IN GENEVA: NEW NAMES OF ARMENIA

On November 26, 2024, the young prodigies of the “ New Armenian Names ” program gave an exceptional concert in Geneva, at the WIPO Conference Hall, under the patronage of the Armenian Embassy in Switzerland.

The concert, dedicated to Charles Aznavour's 100th birthday, brought together classical music, jazz and Armenian folklore, with works by Khatchatourian, Brahms, Babajanian and Piazzolla.

This concert will remain a highlight of our cultural action, embodying hope, transmission and celebration of Armenian musical heritage.

HANDS THAT CREATE, VOICES THAT CARRY

From the New names of Armenia concerts, which bring together talented young musicians to promote Armenia's musical heritage, to exhibitions such as “Art et Artisanat au Féminin” (Women's arts and crafts) or “Créer pour Vivre” (Create to live), Miassine gives a voice to artists who are often invisible: refugees from Artsakh, women, people with disabilities or young people seeking recognition.

In the Apprentice House in Gyumri, each work exhibited becomes an act of memory and a bridge between past and future. This lively venue also hosts creative workshops, poetry circles, artistic performances, and exchange events, all of which contribute to the cultural revival of the city, once the capital of arts and crafts.

Through these actions, Miassine does more than simply showing art: we share it, make it accessible, and bring it to life as a collective experience, an act of personal and social reconstruction. For Miassine, art becomes a universal language of resilience, peace and hope - and a driving force for inclusion and the future.
